lovely trip to Toronto when I decided to take a walk down Yonge Street and see what I could find. The CN Tower and The Eaton Center where just two
of the great things that I did.
When I traveled to
Toronto last summer I booked a hotel in the heart of downtown, right on Dundas
and Yonge Street and very
close to the YD square. Let me tell you, Toronto is the New York of Canada as
it reminded me of it very much so. I could see this bustling area with
restaurants, buskers and stores. As I walked through the square I saw a big
building with stores in the front that looked like a mall. Well, to my delight
and surprise, it was a massive mall that seemed to never end. There were stores
as far as the eye could see. I then remembered that the Eaton Center was on Yonge
Street, so I asked a passer-by if this was indeed the Eaton Center and indeed it was. I shopped around for a
bit and grabbed some street meat to fill my empty belly. I then continued to
walk down the extremely busy street in the middle of a blistering Saturday
afternoon. I was noticing that it felt like the buildings where almost eating
me as I walked closer to the Lake and then suddenly a bit of a clearing started
to take place and there it was the needle in the clouds, the CN Tower. I picked up the pace
as I was getting excited to test my man hood and lay across the famous glass
floor. I finally arrived to the CN
Tower and the price of admission was reasonable and it had friendly
staff. I did lie across the floor and I highly recommend this if you have never
done it before. All in all, my walk down Yonge
Street was fantastic and I could do it two more times and still not see
everything.
Lying down on the glass was a bit nerve racking, would
you be able to do it?
